Sandy then snow.

Transient

Today we have an awesome interview with Matt Chase. Enough said.

How/why/when did you start designing?

When I was four or five, I remember authoring an elaborate series of murals by carving into the side of our dining room table with a salad fork. Since I needed my right had to eat and my eyes to guide mashed potatoes into my mouth, most of the woodwork was done with my left hand, and unfortunately, what I intended to be a depiction of two knights jousting with hockey sticks turned out mostly looking like grass.

What computer/phone do you use and why?

My computer looks very much like this one if you subtract the remote (washing machine) and apple mouse (carpal tunnel-inducing), and replace the background with a tiled pattern of this photo. My keyboard is exactly as clean as the one in the photograph. I make calls and occasionally squish tiny bugs with this.

In you life, what are the three best designed things you use?

Mac desktop, belt, pencil.

What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?

Being able to finance the entirety of my adult life by relying on people to pay me money to draw them pictures.

What can we expect from you in the future?

More stories, more gallery shows, fewer logos, more editorial, fewer lazy projects, more illustration, nicer phone.

Pretty sweet. Here is the desktop I designed for Mr. Chase.
